Love your shows, guys, glad to see an episode where Frank bought some old “3in 1″ model car kits. I was drooling over the stack of Johan kits behind the camera, off to the right. I’ve seen many shows where you walk by old models, promos, etc. if I can, I plan tp get in on the contest. Keep picking, guys, I have done the same kind of thing since I was a young child. I would love to show you the cool old outhouse door my wife found recently.

I travel two lanes everyday, especially to and from the Whistle Stop Antique and Collectibles Shop where I have vending space. Some of the two lane roads I travel I see some hoarders, ideal picking spots, if only they were approachable, I would stop.

    Hi guys,
Gale and I have recently retired and currently on a road trip around the country in our RV. We left Maine about 4 weeks ago and your store in Iowa was one of the stops on the route. We spent a week in Iowa and met some very nice people. We’re currently in Billings MT camping on the Yellowstone River in a KOA and hope to catch a feed or 2 of brook trout. Come join us if you feel like flyfishing.

Holy Cow!! This is right YUP my alley!! I drive the Interstate 5 corridor almost weekly and make random stops when I know something of value is available… OR… if I just happen to see something I like, I go see if it’s for sale. Diggin’ and Dickerin’… it’s what I DO!!

OK, let the FUN begin.. Often my wife and I take little “Drives” after dinner just for kicks. Often I’ve seen some nice stuff that I’ll either stop then and ask or come back later and see if they want to sell some stuff. Either way, I rarely lose out and whatever I buy there’s a profit made…OR…it becomes part of our personal collection! WOOHOOOOOOO…. SOLD!!!

I was at your shop in Nashville 3 yrs ago. Loved it. Went behind your building along railroad tracks and took the most awesome pic of that old water tower. Will try and send to you. I think you should advertise your shop on that water tower. It’s so rustic. Sincerely. Cheryl Stevens.

We just completed a 6800+ mile, 22 day, two lane road trip. Started near South Bend, IN and took US 20 all the way to Bend, OR, traveling through Yellowstone on the way.

Then we went to Crater Lake in Oregon and back north to the Columbia Gorge. Passing into WA, we two laned it all over WA, through the Northern Cascades, Winthrop, Twisp, and all the way to Neah Bay, the western most tip of WA.

We then took US 2 or the “Hi Line” all the way to the Mackinaw Bridge in MI. Crossed the bridge and headed south to our home.

    Pickin all along the way!

Question. I got Stradivarius violin. It belong to great grandpa of a 80 year old women. He was dead by the time she was born. I was wondering what the value of something that would be? Someone offered them 500.00 and they wouldn’t take it.

    1. Frank Dodge

Ok, these old violins that say or may say Stradivarius aren’t made BY him… but some still hold some value. I just sold one that was over 100 yrs old and made in Germany. It carried the name, but only because that name was sold several times to good violin makers… look very close at the inside. Likely somewhere says it’s “Made in Germany”. They can be worth upwards of $400.or more in excellent condition. Most, however, are worth around $100. to $200.
