This compass was made by a company in MA as seen by the engraving “E.S. Ritchie & Sons, INC. NAVIGATIONAL INSTRUMENTS. Pembroke MASSACHUSETTS” on the side of the compass. It comes with iron adjusting balls; red on the right and green on the left. The top of the compass features a glass dome covering. It is loose when handling the compass. When lifting the compass, wires are visible underneath. This specific compass came off the tugboat Matthew Turecamo from 1943.
